Almenkerk’s story began in 2002 when Natalie and Joris moved to South Africa and
started looking for a farm with perfect terroir, cool climate and potential for growing and
producing premium wines. They found this apple farm in the Elgin valley and transformed
it from 32 hectares of orchards to the 100 hectare wine farm today. You are invited to
experience the estate first hand. The wine cellar and tasting room were constructed
against the mountain-side with spectacular views over the Elgin Valley and Kogelberg
Mountains. Taste the Almenkerk, Lace and The Flemish Masters ranges of wine.

Paul Clüver is a 4th generation family business that has been farming in the Elgin Valley for
more than 120 years. We are proud to have pioneered Elgin as a premium wine growing
